READING ROOMS AND LIBRARY

Our Department’s mission is the handling of information and the facilitation of access to knowledge. Our staff focus on:

  • the acquisition, growth in the number, and preservation of the books in our collection (about 17.000 titles),
  • the bibliographical recording of the books of the collection, aiming to facilitate the task of searching for items online,
  • the lending of scientific books which cover a wide spectrum of disciplines, as well as other books such as reference books, both greek and foreign, encyclopaedias, dictionaries and literary books, to the members of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

On the premises of the Reading Rooms students can study using their own books, or books they have borrowed from the Library with their Academic Identity Card or their National Identity Card.
